An odd prompt from National Poetry Writing Month today, which involved a list of actual names of various seashells and using one or more in a poem. Mine is in the title of today’s entry, which may be a day early in its timing but just seems appropriate for Easter weekend:
Lazarus Jewel Box
This resurrection morning
we are thankful for the sacrifice
That made us who we are
Does it lessen or increase
The day’s significance
To note it happened once before?
A case of diamonds or gold
Can’t possibly be worth
The resurrection of the body
Whether Lazarus or the Lord’s.
