Today’s writing prompt for National Poetry Writing Month is to write in the voice of a family member. As the father of two growing girls, the following was mostly overheard in my house this afternoon, and put into words for my by my youngest daughter…I added the last line, but I’ll still consider this her first ‘guest post’ as a poet.
Sisters Conversation
Go away, now.
I don’t want to play, anyhow.
We’ll do it another day.
Not right now
Get out of my room, NOW.
Go play by yourself.
